Food for thought....

I saw this on the Today Show this morning and thought everyone might appreciate it. It's low calorie NO COOKING meals that sound pretty good to me! As they said this morning, if you choose one from each category, by the end of the day you will have consumed approx. 1600 calories. I'm shooting for under 1200 a day so I will tweak some of these ideas, but hey, it's ideas and THIS is exactly what I have been looking for to get me out of my eating slump!

Hey, stumbled on your blog. You have made great changes! You should be extremely proud of yourself. I have been sticking to 1300 calories on most days of the week focusing on high fiber, high protein, lots of fruits and veggies - would love to hear how you make out on 1200. :) Take care.

Hey Christine! Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate your positive comments.

I too have been focusing on exactly what you are: high fiber, high protein and TONS of fruit and veggies. My diet is very boring right now...I am somewhat stuck in a rut, BUT, it's working so that helps me stick to it. I ALWAYS have coffee for breakfast w/ fat free creamer and splenda (my morning treat, so to speak). I am not much of a breakfast person but about 50% of the time I do eat breakfast and when I do, I eat a Kashi cereal (high fiber and protein) with skim milk. Once in a blue moon I might throw in some fruit.

For lunch it's almost ALWAYS a lean cuisine of sorts. Mostly pizza but sometimes other stuff.

For dinner, which is my most difficult meal because I have my husband, who is NOT onboard with this weight thing...so I try to fix something that works both ways (his and mine). USUALLY chicken of sorts seasoned with either a little BBQ sauce or seasonings (Mrs. Dash is great for this) I vary the sides with veggies or something like a baked potato so we can each add what we like on it. I also have a 4 year old and a 1 year old, so I try to feed them off of the dinner meal too.

I hope this answers your question a little bit! Tell me what you are eating and how it's working for you!

By the way, do you have a blog? If so I would love to visit it!
